Stoyan has been invited to contribute to the Legal Affairs Committee of the Bulgarian Parliament during discussions on law reforms concerning IP. He has been praised for his well-founded and substantiated proposals, which were subsequently adopted by Parliament.

Stoyan plays an active role in the international IP community: President of the Bulgarian National Group of AIPPI, member of the AIPPI Standing Committee on Trade Marks, Chair of the Anti-Counterfeiting Committee and member of the Supervisory Board of ECTA, as well as a long-standing member of INTA. He also serves as an EUIPO SQAP auditor through AIPPI.
